is there some simple rules or guidelines to follow while driving my z just to be nice and not a jerk? I mean like I am not used to the attention. I drove an 03 sentra I had since dec 02 and before that an 89 sentra and well no one really looked or talked to me at the lights or anywhere. Just wondering cuase I am not used to people looking at me, dont get me wrong I like the attention hehehe.

I get talked to all the time, and thumbs up going down the highway because people think my cars a skyline.

Just drive like a normal, courteous (spelling?), human being, and you should be good.

the rules are if someone asks what car that is you reply "Ferrari"

I used to get them when the car was on rims and what not, but I personally like the stock look where people dont really notice the car, but the exhaust sound to anybody that mods cars knows somethings not stock hahaha.

+1 to what Shift_Broke said. I only have rims on my car too atm, ussually i dont even use them anymore and run stock rims. Mostly because the rims weigh so damn much plus i like being undercover >.> Stockers have my winter tires on them still tho so....

Ya well even with an alarm i'd have to agree i'm much happier not getting those looks. This is untill I have a garge of my own with a pack of dovermens bouncers and tear gas.

LOL I used to get plenty of looks in my 89 Sentra. Normally they weren't good ones though mainly because sh!t was falling off the car and my exhaust was pretty much rusted away from the header to the muffler.

Don't take this the wrong way (and maybe it's because I'm from VA and not used to the whole cowboy culture) but if you dress like your avatar it may not be your car they are staring at....

I almost spit out my drink even though I didn't have one at the time! :dielaughing2:

Hm, I say just smile, or wave back, even if it's just the lazy 'stretching your fingers away from the steering wheel' kind of wave. They could be a fellow Nissaner too!

thanks for all the input everyone. I rarely put on my hat when I drive and I shift kinda bad with my boots on so I try to avoid it when possible. I shifted better in my boots when I had my sentras eh go figure. If I am going to have a conoc sticker on my car I wanted to represent and not give us a bad name.

Drive the Z barefoot! That's what I do, except when I'm racing! I wear flip flops and they make it hard to shift... :)

Yeah, maybe don't flip people off if you don't want to give CONOC a bad name!

Yeah, I really should get some driving shoes for autox... my big, fluffy Vans are kinda bulky & hot... do they have those in stores? (my feet are HUGE and wide, so I need to be able to try shoes on!)

Oooh! I really like the Speed Princess Ballerina (http://www1.store.puma.com/ProductDirectAction.do?colorStyleNO=30207201&source=pumamotorsport) ones!

Ha, yea no offense to the 350z crowd but I see 10 a day. Back when my car actually ran I got looks all over. Try driving a car that they made less than 4k of, and half the people think it is a Skyline or a real Silvia. For example I have 11 speeding tickets 10 in my Nissan, and only a couple were way over. Just one ticket in my Jeep and I drive that 10+ over everywhere I go Nissan was only 5 over. I no bull have gotten a ticket for 46 in a 40 in the Nissan, chicken **** crap. I actually even have a parking ticket that under make says "Porsche?" due to it being debadged.

That's how it was for me. Before I blacked out the car, I had no problems with cops and drove 10 over everywhere, 15-25 over on the highway. Then I blacked out the car and got exhaust, pulled over a bunch since. And same thing with me, it's always "Nissan -------------" with just a line instead of the model or "Black Sedan" for the tickets since it's debadged.

Arrgg totally responded and actsidently hit prev thread damn it.

Had blacked out headlights and tail lights with black rims with 10% tint and just had test and tune night before with numbers still all over.
Pulled over and got the "what is this you took all them stickers off"
Ended in a tint gauge exaust threat along with "I dont wanna find the code for your tailights ticket"
Took the black off along with rims and havn't been pulled over since( knock on wood)

57mph in a 45mph sir!!!.....whoa

It's crazy so many of you catch attention from people. I DD a sti, which I figure is a pretty eye catchy car, I rarely get looked at even with an exhaust. Even in my nissan, I rarely get looked at and it's pretty low i guess, white wheels, stripped, etc.

The reason why 350s get noticed is because they "look" like a really nice car, regardless that there's a million of them. lol.

My track car gets like 10x the attention than the z. But thats because its loud as hell, scrapping on everything and parts of my body are falling off in traffic

maybe because I do not have any plates on it yet or the lakewood // golden area is deprived of 350's

I'm not sure how I missed this thread. But I noticed the same thing once I put the Nissan badges on the G coupe. People always asking questions, taking pictures in traffic. The Z and G are nice cars so it makes that you'd get a little attention.

I've never really gotten any negative attention before though.

I took my S14 Kouki to the nissan dealership in VA to see about getting some touch-up paint. This lady salesperson comes out and greets me and says that's a nice looking car!--what kind is it? ... It has Silvia front and rear badges, but I was like Really?! I told her it was actually a nissan and she got all embarassed and was like "Oh I guess I really should know that huh?...."
Sort of funny.:D
