New to the site, not to Nissans.

I've got a couple of them, I'm sure at least one has been seen around. Others might know me from a couple of different forums and the like.

The Frontier...

The other one, called the PhoeniX, some may have seen around...

Anyway, my Boss recommended this place, thought I should check it out. I'm always game for something new, meet new peeps and spread the Nissan knowledge across the world! Or something. :D

Some may also know my Boss as well, he's the Editor-in-Chief for Nissan Sport Magazine, David Muramoto. That would make the Off Road Editor of Nissan Sport Magazine, Allen Cox. Also a Nissan Senior Specialist and ASE Master Mechanic, among other stuff. I also work on David's several race cars. Unless he's losing a race... then it's all on him! ::driver::

Looking forward to getting to know y'all.

Welcome! Nice trucks. Got any recommendations on places to go for a beginner off roader?

How beginner? Dirt roads or hard rocks? Depends a lot on what you're "into". Rampart Range is cool, but my rig is built for rocks big as a VW Bug or bigger. I like rocks, so Spring Creek is a good trail for that. Whereas the Rampart Range area can have several different areas that can challenge a novice wheeler.

Do you have any vehicle protection like skid plates, sliders, bumpers or recovery stuff?

Beginner enough so that I could take my totally stock 4runner out to somewhere and not roll it :) Either one though. I was thinking more of the rock variety, though that's probably not very safe. No protection gear...
